US diesel fell 18.3 cents a gallon on the week, to $6.199\. Across a 150 gallon fill that is about $27 saved per stop.

## Diesel, both sides of the border

Canada: 259.7¢ a litre, up 0.6¢ on the week, NRCan survey printed 13 October 2026\. Quebec is dearest at 291.2¢ and Alberta cheapest at 228.7¢.

United States: $6.199 a gallon, down 18.3 cents on the week, EIA week ending 5 October 2026\. California is dearest at $8.082 and Lower Atlantic cheapest at $5.699.

## At the border

- Peace Bridge: 13 min into Canada
- Thousand Islands Bridge: 10 min into the US

The other 7 crossings were under 10 minutes both ways when we checked.

Waits are commercial lanes: CBSA for traffic into Canada, CBP for traffic into the US.

## The dollar

USD/CAD closed at 1.4222 on 13 October 2026\. The loonie is up 0.03 per cent on the week.

## Spotlight: Quebec

Quebec diesel is 291.2¢ a litre, 31.5¢ above the national average. Across its 10 surveyed cities it runs from 288.5¢ in Chicoutimi to 295.9¢ in Val d'Or.
